Lovely day. Spoilt only by the part closure of our favourite walk. Necessary of course and should look great when completed.

Great day out. Lovely cafe, which also has a sheltered outdoor seating area overlooking the water.
We had a lovely walk - most paths were accessible.
The bike-hire person was lovely and helpful - we didn't hire bikes this time but think we will next time. (We also saw the accessibility bikes which seem like a great idea - you can phone or email Lough Boora park for info on those).

Fab place to go to on a nice day for a lovely walk/cycle/run. Each time I visit there's always something different being build. Plenty to explore and plenty more coming soon I believe such as a sauna hot tub. And I saw train tracks so I presume a train journey around is on the cards soon.

today i went here with my family and had such a lovely time. the atmosphere was truly unique and had an otherworldy quality. the mixture of moss was gorgeous. the sculpture walk was so enjoyable and i loved how each artwork incorparated elements of old machinery. there were lots of bathrooms and bins along the walk which was greatly appreciated. overall i would highly reccomend !!

Great outdoor centre. Designed to be suitable for all ages. Smooth paths suitable for children on their bikes, the elderly and all ages in between. You discover different sculptures as you meander the different paths. No adventure would be complete without a a lovely coffee shop to restore energies. Boora ticks all the boxes.

Two new sculptural works by artist Kevin O’Dwyer have been officially launched at Lough Boora Discovery Park, marking the first major additions to the park’s sculpture collection in over a decade. The works, titled Regeneration and Light as a Feather, reflect the park’s evolving story of transformation from industrial peatlands to a landscape of ecological restoration, culture and public enjoyment.
"Regeneration" draws inspiration from the seed as a symbol of renewal, growth, and cyclical change. Rising vertically from the ground, the work acknowledges the industrial history of the site while pointing toward its continued regeneration.
"Light as a Feather" offers a contrasting visual language — a suspended, airy form that engages with space, balance, stillness and the quiet expansiveness of Boora’s open horizon.
“Lough Boora is a place shaped by change, resilience and imagination,” said Kevin O’Dwyer. “These works are rooted in the landscape’s capacity to hold memory while continually becoming something new. It has been an honour to contribute to this next chapter in the park’s cultural and environmental renewal.”
Developed with the support of Bord na Móna and Offaly County Council, the works highlight the role of the arts in shaping public engagement with landscape and regional identity. The sculptures expand the existing Lough Boora Sculpture Park collection, inviting visitors to encounter the environment through form, material, and movement.

It's a beautiful place which you may find difficult to cover in a day. Entry is free for all. A place where you could click innumerable pics. I love the friendly swans at the park. The hard work they have put into the setting of the park is highly appreciated .
